US Citizenship and Immigration Solutions (USCIS) clarified its anti-weed policy on Friday: no US citizenship for immigrants who consume cannabis or who operate in the legal weed market.

The policy reminder, which USCIS tweeted proper just before the higher vacation of four/20, is not new. It falls below the government’s “good moral character” requirement for immigrants to turn out to be citizens.

In other words, the feds are saying immigrants who touch weed are undesirable men and women, and thus do not deserve to belong to this nation.

Marijuana remains illegal below federal law as a Schedule I controlled substance regardless of any actions to decriminalize its possession, use, or sale at the state and regional level,” a USCIS spokesperson stated, according to CNN.

Regardless of Trump’s group claiming it wholeheartedly supports states’ rights, the anti-weed policy even extends into legal states. Correct now, 35 US states permit some kind of cannabis 10 states and DC legalized recreational pot.

The 15 states exactly where weed remains totally outlawed all elected Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

Earlier this month, ABC News interviewed two immigrants living in Colorado who had been denied citizenship more than weed. When USCIS located out they each worked in the state’s legal weed market, the agency accused them of lacking “good moral character.” A single immigrant came from Latin America. The other immigrant was born in Europe.

The Trump administration’s anti-weed/anti-immigrant policy “is a reminder that with out extensive cannabis reform our communities of colour will continue to be prosecuted and topic to deportation for activity that is legal for affluent communities about the nation,” Jason Ortiz, vice president of the Minority Cannabis Company Association, told Marijuana Moment.

According to the Cato Institute, a libertarian consider-tank, immigration application denials enhanced 37 % because Trump took workplace.

Regardless of Trump’s incessant flip-flopping on marijuana reform, assistance for cannabis is at an all-time higher. A current CBS News poll located that 65 % of all Americans assistance weed legalization. More than half of Trump’s constituents — 56 % of Republicans — favor legal weed, also.
